Three Comal ISD teachers will be recognized during the 33rd Annual Valero Alamo Bowl game Dec. 30, for the impact they make in their classrooms and communities. They are among 30 San Antonio-area educators selected for this year's Extra Yard for Teachers program.

Comal ISD is kicking off 2026 with a districtwide job fair 5-6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at its Support Services building in New Braunfels.

Comal ISD has hired Christina Eckert as its Chief Communications Officer. She brings 20 years of experience in strategic communications, marketing and media in public education and broadcast journalism to the role.

The Davenport High School Wolf Band is the silver medal winner of the State UIL 4A Marching Band Contest. The 196-member band impressed the judges with its show titled Wanderlust.

An all-female team from Canyon High School was named the Reserve National Champion, placing second in the FFA Agricultural Communications career development event at the National FFA Convention.

Comal ISD has received the Superior Achievement rating with a score of '100' under the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) for the 2024-2025 school year. The district has earned the highest rating available since FIRST was established in 2001.

Church Hill Middle School seventh-grade student, Dawson Szanto, was named the 2025 Comal Speaks District Champion after sharing his thoughts on confidence.

Eighth-grade student Jenny Le was surprised to learn that her design is this year's Comal ISD Christmas Card Contest winner. Her original artwork, depicting the Comal ISD logo as an ornament hanging on a tree, will be featured on the cover of this year's card which is sent to district staff.
