Five Comal ISD Athletes Chosen for Annual All-Star Football Game

Dec. 15, 2020 - The football season has been extended beyond the playoffs for five Comal ISD seniors who have been chosen for the San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game presented by H-E-B. The annual game showcases top local high school players who will take the field at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Heroes Stadium.

Representing the Rangers of Smithson Valley High School are Jalen Nutt, cornerback; Ryan Benca, offensive tackle; and Trey Moore, defensive end. The trio will be playing for the Gold team. Representing the Cougars of Canyon High School is Caden Holt, inside linebacker, and representing the Hawks of Canyon Lake High School is Eric Teutsch, offensive tackle. Holt and Teutsch will be playing for the Black team.

This marks the 43rd anniversary of the game. General admission tickets will be available on a limited basis per state and local guidelines and will go on sale January 4. The game will also be broadcast on The CW35 and ESPN 1250 radio. Learn more here.

Players are nominated by their high school coaches, and rosters are selected based on five-year winning percentages of teams. The 112 student athletes chosen for the 2021 game represent 62 high schools, and many have already committed to play football for some of the top universities in the country.

Congratulations!
