Due to the growth of the area, the “new” high school campus was opened in March of 1988 and the “old” campus became Smithson Valley Middle School.
In its early years, the extracurricular emphasis was on agriculture and building trades; now the school offers advanced academic classes as well as vocational offerings such as health science technology and hospitality.
The attendance zone for SVHS spreads far and wide, including northern San Antonio, western Boerne, southern Blanco, Fischer, Canyon Lake, Bulverde, Spring Branch, and the Smithson Valley area. The school is now serving the children of its early graduates. |
